Heightened smell

Has anybody ever heard or experienced an increase in sensitivity to smell?  I am definately not pregnant and i can't think of any other reasons this is happening, but I can smell everything to the point where I get headaches.  I have asked people around me if they can smell what i smell and they can not smell anything, whereas I am getting a headache from the smell.  Has anybody ever heard of this or experienced this?

I am now 66 and for about the last 30 yrs I have experienced an increased sense of smell.  I can be in an elevator and tell you which people use
Tide as their laundry detergent.  I sometimes even smell diesel etc.
freeway odors with the intake CLOSED...I can smell cigarette smoke
a mile away...Once I saved my family from a house fire because I
could smell a degree of ''hot'' from a 2x4 upon which a furnace
exhaust had opened upon...The wood was very hot to the touch and
would have combusted during the night!....This increased smell is
mostly a curse...just wondered if it was indicative of a particular
problem or am I just lucky.          In the past few years, I have also
developed a reaction to cleaning products...My nose burns and
my sinuses close up...with a headache...this is new for me.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
patients with migraines often have a increased sense of smell prior to their headache starting.  this is very common.  we call it an aura.
