Inability to sneeze (Psychological reason)

Guys if you’re reading this I need to get some help. Apparently how it started was I had sacroiliac joint pain and a little pelvic tilt, and since I’m a little bit hypochondric (urge to search your symptoms online), I went online and googled it, and one of the points that caught my attention was that sneezing could alter your bones misalignment. And immediately, I became scared for no reason and something in my brain changed that resulted me in the inability to sneeze. Now I can’t sneeze at all and when I feel the urge to sneeze, I will think that “I’m gonna sneeze, I’m gonna sneeze” and then I couldn’t because I kept thinking about it. Now I have headache, ear and eye pain which I think might be due to lack of sneeze. I’m always constantly thinking of not being able to sneeze and I find it hard not to not think about it. If there’s anyone facing the same problem as me please get into contact with me. I want to talk to someone.

Inability to sneeze can be a sign of a neurological issue and requires evaluation but agree that your issue does sound psychological in nature.  It would be best to talk to your doctor about it and receive treatment for health related anxiety to move past this.

Exactly, I shouldn’t be thinking of a reflex action and Just let my mind do the job but for some reason I can’t. I managed to sneeze recently but my mind is still hooked on sneezing

As you already know, sneezing is a way of reaction triggered by the human body naturally. It is one of the ways that our internal system used just to push away the allergens deposited on the inner surface of the nose and throat. Stopping sneeze is a daunting action which may evolve into detrimental infection. I guess you have removed nose hair or taking some drugs to stop sneezing. In my opinion, the best suggestion would be to consult an ENT specialist because it is hard to assume the root cause

My inability to sneeze is a psychological reason. I don’t think it’s a neurological disorder. I feel the urge to sneeze and I will overthink on it and I can’t get the ‘choo’
