Oesophagus feels tight and uncomfortable

Hi

I have recently been diagnosed with tonsillitis and this past day whenever i try to eat or drink anything it feels like its too big for my oesophagus. I get that feeling like when you don't chew your food as well as you should or you try to swallow to much.

Like a painful pressure in my chest until the food/drink goes down.

Is this normal with tonsillitis?
