PLease please help!

Hi

Please, please can anybody give me some clues as to what could be going on in my throat?!

I have had a feeling of a lump for about 2 years now.  At first I thought it was food stuck or just a problem that would go away, so I ignored it, then it became unbearable so I went to see a doctor who said a pocket behind my right tonsil had filled with debris (bits of food) and I consequently had a tonsillectomy to resolve the problem.... I was so excited to get rid of this horrible feeling... but it didnt make a difference!!  I returned to the doctor who told me what I could feel now was probably scar tissue and I would either get used to it or it would go away... neither of which have happened over a year later!!

It is becoming unbearable now, I find it difficult to breath when I am exercising, there is a constantly a bad taste and bad smell from my mouth, it often causes me to cough (Ioften cough up small yellow/white bits), it is causing my voice to become more hoarse more often, I am constantly drinking fizzy drinks in an attempt to soothe the lump feeling.  There is no pain, but it is so irritating, I am forever clearing my throat and dry swallowing in an aatempt to swallow the obstruction, but of course this never works!!

Please give me a clue as to what I could do to get rid of this!  I owuld really appreciate ANY help at all!!!

Thanks

Lou

It sounds like you've had laryngoscopy to look for abnormalities in your upper throat, and now they're sending you for EGD or esophagoduodenoscopy to look at your esophagus (swallowing food tube), stomach and upper intestines.

You may consider an evaluation for allergies, sometimes post-nasal drip causes a foreign body sensation.

Did you go to an ent? Did they check your larynx? From what I am reading, if things are an issue with the larynx then one of the symptoms is something stuck in the throat.............hope that helps!

I had problems breathing. About seven months ago, I went to see the doc
and he told me I he need to remove my tonsils and uvula and nouse surgery.
After seven months I visit the doctor like six or seven times because I feel the food and pills get stuck
in my throat but the doctor keeps telling me that everithing is fine but i don't awree with the doctor. So I went to see another doctor and he toldme the same thing. But the food and pills still
get stuck in my throat. Right  now I made an apoiment to see a doctor in Stanford Hospital of CA.
on the 27  of November and I hope they find whats wrong with me. because they have better equipment. and I hope you'll find your problem.
