Red lumps in throat

I have these painful red lumps in the left side of my throat. When I swallow it feels like a popcorn kernel is stuck there. The pain goes up into my ear. I have post nasal drip And the doctor only gave me nasonex. Here is a link to a pic of what it looks like.

Please help me narrow down the possibilities.

did you ever get an answer on these red marks?  I have similar ones.  In fact, I have red markings on one side of my throat that don't bother me, but in very similar positions on the other side of my throat I have the same pattern of markings but they are raised and swoolen like yours.  They bug my throat and i feel like that whole side of my neck, jaw, and even ear are involved.  My ENT suggested I go off dairy, but that hasn't done anything.  I've had scans of my glands and thyroid - none of which have amounted to anything to help diagnoss anything.  It certainly feels like something physical is wrong, but I'm beginning to wonder if it's caused by anxiety.

Hard not to worry about it when it bugs you all day.  My jaw is definitely sore and involved, but I don't know if it is the cause or the result of these red lines in my throat and any swelling that may be going along with them??

He prescribed amoxicilin for a "sinus infection".

That has gone away but I know I'm not allergic.
It's not thrush but these bumps are really bothersome.

Were you checked for thrush? It's a yeast type of infection.
Have you taken any medications that you've never had before?
An allergic reaction perhaps?

I had both measles and chicken pox as a child...I got those same type of lumps with both.
Not saying that's what you have though...you would have them everywhere by now...or so I would assume.
Could be strep throat...which can turn out to be very dangerous if not treated.
Go and see another doctor...

Good luck
