Right ear pain

I spontaneously lost my hearing in my right ear in 2008 and in the past year I’ve had very sharp intermittent pain in my right ear. They did an MRI without contrast and did not see anything concerning in that ear, or in my brain. I saw the  ENT once who asked me a series of questions and came to the conclusion I have TMJ which I do not believe I have. He said the inside of that ear looks normal despite the SSHL. I feel like something has been missed and that this type of severe sharp pain however  intermittent, is directly related to this ear.  Not sure what to do next other than accept His conclusion which is the left side of my jaw is causing my right ear pain?
