Right side neck discomfort
What would cause a dull pain in the right side neck?

The symptoms mentioned could be caused by cervical spondylosis. Sometimes repetitive injuries or strain can also produce these symptoms. A disorder called fibromyalgia can produce these symptoms (tenderness). Please consult your primary care physician who will carry out blood tests and x rays to rule out these conditions. In the meantime you can take OTC pain medication Ibuprofen. Ensure to take this medication after food to avoid gastritis.
