I have a white / yellowish growth on my tongue that when cleaned using a tongue scraper comes off in a pasty substance.
I previously had a yeast infection caused by antibiotics. It lasted several years and affected my tongue and gut health causing growth on my tongue and diarrhea if I ate any breads or sugar. After going through a long course of anti fungal treatment my gut health appears to have fully rebounded but my tongue still has this growth occurring.
It is not the same as it was when I had the yeast infection, primarily I can eat bread and sugar again with none of the previous side affects from before. (I am back to eating a normal diet of carbs, meat, fruits and veggies)
I have tried brushing and cleaning my tongue 3 times a day for over 2 months and it still is not going away.
I don't smoke and just recently started occasionally drinking (3-5 times a month)
Testings done so far have been blood test which came back normal and a swab of my tongue which was tested for fungal growth and came back negative.
One thing to note, the growth seems to flare up a little more if I eat foods with more bacteria in it like yogurt or sauerkraut. This really makes me wonder if I over did it with the probiotics when I was treating the yeast infection and if now I would need to take more antibiotics to cure this issue. This worries me because I really do not want to get a yeast infection again.
