Why can I suddenly see my epiglottis????

I have been noticing my epiglottis popping up in my throat for 3 months now. The ENT says its normal but uncommon. I'm not having trouble eating drinking or breathing.. It just bothers me a lot. Feels like I can gag cuz I feel it in my throat. What can I do to get it to relax and go back to its normal place in the throat??? I'm starting to feel like I'm going to go crazy.. It bothers me s lot.. What can I do?? Is there anything I mean anything to fix this for good?!?

Did this ever resolve for you? I can now see my epiglottis and it feels like I have something stuck in my throat every time I swallow.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

Understand your predicament. It is uncommon to see a prominent epiglottis, a swollen uvula is more common. As it is not causing problems with breathing or swallowing, its best left alone. If inflammation, you can try anti inflammatory medications and salt water gargles. If it is very troublesome, you can ask for surgical correction after a thorough assessment.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
