Uvula deviation

I had my tonsils removed 2 months ago.  Now my uvula is almost non-existant and it is over to one side, like the skin was moved (it's not even).  I still have issues with water going up my nose when I swallow.  Also, I still have problems swallowing some foods; it gets stuck in my throat.
What in the world is going on?

It's been almost 2 years since my surgery.

My taste is still "off."

I still have problems sometimes swallowing bread (it gets stuck and won't go down).

My uvula still looks the same (kind of over to one side).

I did go back to the doc probably 6 months after the surgery.  He said to give it time.  I would have thought 2 years would be enough.  I guess I'll have to go back again, but I think it's a waste of my time.

Have you ever got this resolved? I’m on my 10th day post op but the uvula has been about half inch off from the center amd swollen from day 1 and it’s remained that way ever since despite all the scabs having fallen off already and otherwise little pain by now. I also saw small scab in the base of the uvula indicating that they have cut into it during surgery, perhaps accidentally. I can’t swallow properly due to the deviation and swelling.

Hi, sorry to hear your having problem's with your Uvula, I am also having trouble with mine, I had my tonsils out in Aug 08, now my uvula touches the back of my tongue, it seemed to go away for a while and now it's been back for 2 weeks, the Doctor said they can trim it or remove it, I was all set to have him do one or the other then I read where food or liquid can back up your nose, I have a Dr appointment for next week Feb 10th, Im not sure what Im going to do now, One more thing, after the tonsil surgery the Dr told my wife my throat prolasped on the one side so he put in a couple of stitches to bring it back up.

I had my tonsils removed over 2 weeks ago and well my uvula is still swollen and I am not able to eat much.

I wish I can fast forward 2 months in the future to get the swelling down.

I so understand your position though. What I have heard from others is that it can take months for the uvula to get back into proper psition.

Hang in there. All the best.

If you are still uncertain then maybe see the ENT who did the surgery to explain things.

Let me also say that the Doctor never said anything about modifying my uvula.
