sore throat and swollen tonsils one week after sex?

i had unprotected sex one week ago with a guy who’s sexual history i don’t really know. (i know, i know) we had intercourse and i performed oral on saturday, and by late thursday night my throat was hurting a little, but friday morning i woke up with a lot more pain. only ONE of my tonsils are really swollen and red, and i have big white patches on it. i haven’t really been having any other major symptoms of anything. since my throat’s been bothering me i’ve been more fatigued than usual, and my neck and back are a bit sore. i know that a sore throat can be a symptom of an oral sti, but i don’t know how likely that is in my case. is it normal for people to come down with an illness like strep or tonsillitis out of nowhere after sex? or does this sound like a different case? also in the case that it is an sti, wouldn’t i have other symptoms besides just the sore throat? thank you in advance!
