Back of throat/nose smell?

For years I've suffered routinely from some strange smell coming from the back of my nose or throat. No one can smell it but me. It doesn't smell like something rotten but rather like  super wet , decomposing pine wood or molds or something like that.  It is not all the time and it seems to be stronger when I breathe deeper. Does anyone have any idea what this may be? I don't usually suffer from allergies or anything of that sort. But it is the most perculiar thing and it happens for atleast two weeks once a year. It's driving me nuts!

I actually took the description of the smell from someone else's post on this website and it was perfect. For years I tried to figure out exactly what the smell was. Well, atleast I know there is someone else out there with this issue..

Hmm by the definition I have read in several places I don't know. What I have in not halitosis. It is rather a smell only perceptable to me...The symptoms of tonsil stones don't seem to match up, but thanks!
