Chronic Sinusitus

I had my first sinus infection in 2000.  I was diagnosed with a deviated septum.  Lived in Houston at the time, sinus infections were 1 every 3 months at least.  I moved to a small country town in 2005.  Had septoplasty to repair deviated septum.  had allergy testing done and allergy shots.  It was 6 months before I had a sinus infection after surgery.  I have used NeilMed saline rinse for 6 years, and it truly cleanses the nostrils. I am a faithful uses, morning and evening.  I have daily headaches, I sleep elevated.  I take Zyrtec at night.  Sudafed, alavert, and benadryl for a severe allergy due to grass, trees etc.  I have had a constant sinus infection for 6 weeks now.  Have gone in received steroid / antibiotic shot; given Bactrim; Amoxicillion; and another this past time.  I will feel better for a few days and then it hits suddenly; my eyes swell, my voice is hoarse, my headaches are almost unbearable and it seems nothing is helping this time.  Yesterday I woke and my uvula was swollen and touching my tongue, it felt like i had something in my throat, a hair............it is red and swollen.  Since I have been on a diverse amount of antibiotics, how could I get another type of infection?

DESPERATELY SEEKING HELP!

Thank you so much, I will certainly try both suggestions.  Yes, I am under an allergist's care.  Have a great day!

I had a similar experience as you, in fact my problem started in 2000 in Houston, too, go figure.  As you know, the Neilmed works well, but it only reaches the lower sinuses due to gravity.  I developed the Flip-Turn Sinus Flush, which does reach the upper sinuses.  The Grossan Irrigator may reach them too, but I don't know as I've never tried it.

The Flip-Turn Sinus Flush is mildly risky, because you have to bend over to do it, preferably in a shower, but you can also do it outside on soft ground.  The Neilmed solutions will do just fine.

I assume that you are already under a doctor's or allergist's care.

You may also wish to try nettle leaf capsules for at least 2 weeks, for the allergies.  In the feedback I've received, it seems to be very effective for about half of the people who try it, with no known side effects.  I'm not big on herbals anymore, 'cept that one.  BTW, I still have perfectly clear sinuses and no more allergies.  I hope you have similar luck.
