Growth on tonsil

I recently had a strange growth on my tonsil. I saw the doctor who had absolutely no idea what it was and simply told me to come back if it got any bigger. I understand its not an easy job to diagnose these things but I was hoping for a little for clarification or possibly some suggestions. I was wondering if specialists on here would take a look and let me know what they think?

Hello and welcome to the forum.  We appreciate your question but are sorry your doctor wasn't of more help.   I am thinking that your doctor perhaps is saying that a watch and see approach is best. If it changes, then more serious action will be taken to determine what this could be. And as for now, it is considered harmless.  A benign cyst is a possibility. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/tonsil-cyst  Is the doctor asking you to keep checking it? Or do you have a follow up appointment?  And you can always get a second opinion. An Ear Nose and Throat doctor would be excellent for looking at this over a general practitioner.
