I had a tonsillectomy now I have a slit on the left side of my throat

I had a tonsillectomy two years ago, everything went well. I have been experiencing sore throats that are quite sore often and especially at night I get extremely bad burning pain in the area of the tonsillectomy, when I brush my teeth it feels like the back of my throat is being burnt. I have since noticed that in the tonsil area there is like a slit which creates like a pocket on the left side, it seems as though there are little pockets in the area if that makes sense. Should I be concerned? This was never present before.
