Ringing in ears my entire life?

Since I can remember I have always had tinnitus, constant ringing in my ears if I think about it and I thought it was normal until a dr asked me about it, I have had my ears tested by an audiologist since and my hearing itself is great and he said occasionally people can be born with tinnitus that doesn’t affect hearing and for whatever reason is just normal for them. I also was told I have tensor tympani syndrome by him as well, where a little muscle spasm in my inner ear occasionally just like an eyelid twitch. Again he said my ears are very healthy and that this apparently can just be normal for some. Even my fiancée this the same way minus the ear twitching. I guess has anyone here heard anything about that?
