Sinus Polyps Removal Surgery - situation 15 years after

Hi ,

I would be happy to find good advice here.

I made this surgery around 15 years ago, not by the FACE Technique but some easier Technique.
At that time I had no Choice, I suffered very much from the polyps that actually completely blocked the sinus.

The surgery brought a very significant relief and the recovery was quite fast.

But since 5-7 years after new problems arose:

I have a chronic dryness of the nose canal, that cause the mockus stay inside very sticky causing severe discomfort.
My face became quite red , a sort of redness on the area of the cheeks.

I am looking for something that will help me to get some humidity inside the nose tunnel but I have not found.

I would be happy to learn from others experience or advice.

Thank you,
Jack

I have the same problem with the drying out of my nasal canal.  I would also suggest a saline solution to rinse out your nose.  the saline will not dry out your nose because the water in our body is similar to a saline solution. Because I'm lazy, I just use Plain water.  I can do this anywhere and whenever my nose gets all sticky and stopped up. I put water in my hand and suck it up one nostril While holding the other nostril shut. After after sucking up the water, I blow it out while still holding the other nostril shut. I may do this two or three times on both sides. It is such a relief after it is done!after clearing all the mucus and stuff out of my nose I use a light coat of Vaseline on each nostril. This works for me. lastly, why don't you consult your ENT doctor to see if you are having a problem with polyps again. Polyps do return after so many years.

Regarding your red face issue, I do not think the two are related.  you may have some type of rosacea or rash. I would try using a 1% hydrocortisone cream on the area for about 2 weeks. If that does not clear it up, You should see a dermatologist about your face.

Hi,
Does Saline contain salt ?
And if so, wouldn't it make the node canal more dry ?
Thank you,
Jack

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi, you can try nasal saline irrigations over the counter like NeilMed or Neti pot are very effective for moisturizing, but worsen Eustachian tube dysfunction (water in the ears or feeling of fullness in the ears).  Also, saline nasal drops can reduce the dryness. Try to humidify the room this could also provide relief. If persistent consult your doctor for an evaluation. Regards.
