Weird feeling in my throat? I'm 13 and im worried :,(

Hello, I'm a 13 year old girl and for the past 3 months I've had this weird feeling in my throat. My doctor checked my neck and looked down in my throat and said I was perfectly normal. I posted a question like this on yahoo answers with exact symptoms and they ALL said it was just swollen lymph nodes. It went away for awhile but KIND OF came back. My mom used to work at a hospital and she said it could actually take SEVERAL months for my lymph nodes to go down. I have allergies. It first felt really weird to yawn but then in my neck, on my lymph nodes, it started to hurt a little. It doesn't last long just a few seconds then goes away. I'm a hypochondriac and have a phobia of dieing so is this something I should be worried about? Please help :,(

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Repeated throat infections can also cause enlarged inflamed lymph nodes. These settle down with antibiotics, only to flare up again with another infection.

How about trying to act at the preventive end? Avoid contact with people suffering from throat infections. Diet which is well balanced with adequate proteins and non-refined carbohydrates with plenty of fruits and vegetables will build up your immunity. In addition, have good physical activity to increase your appetite and boost up stamina.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

It sounds to me like it IS your lymph nodes...and that they are flaring up because of an allergic reaction.
If it were mumps, the pain and swelling would be gone by now.

Could you please describe the "weird feeling" for us?
