Why can’t I taste anything?

I haven’t been able to taste anything in 4 days . I can breathe, I’m not congested but I can’t smell anything . My allergies were acting up about 4 days ago and I took a Claritin, since then I haven’t had those 2 senses . Should I be alarmed ? How can I get it back ?

Good times.  Our sense of taste is very much related to our sense of smell.  And our sense of smell can be altered when we have anything going on in the nasal passages or sinuses.  Are you getting a cold by chance?  Is this improved?  I'd loved to know your current status. If it is still going on, we'll talk further,  there are some things to think about if so.
