Links between emotion and perception of fatness?!

When I am in a bad way emotionally, like today I've just felt overwelmed with a whole host of negative feelings.  I feel FAT.  Yet when I am in a happier state of mind I don't feel fat,  if I get an anxious moment during a happier period  I suddenly feel panick about fatness.  Can anybody relate to this?  Is it a normal part of an eating disorder?

I relate, eating disorders and emotions are very closely linked, in fact the underlying problem of eating disorders is emotional. Its sounds like when you feel bad you divert it to your body, something you can actively do something about ie not eat for instance. It can make you feel more in control of things when in reality youre not dealing with what upset you in the first place....Lily
