Allergic reaction during period.

I'm not sure if I should even be asking a question here but the OBGYN isn't any help. They diagnosed me with endometrosis about 3 months ago they said if the pill doesn't help they want to do an exploratory surgery. I was having VERY irregular periods (like I was on a period that lasted 16 weeks and only one day of the week I would get a 3 hour break from it. I'm only 22 years old and I had a baby 10 months ago. Recently I've noticed when I'm on my period whether i change my pad every hour (which I've resorted to) the blood in the pad burns my genitals. Is it possible I'm allergic to my period?

I've actually started having a similar problem the past few months, and I thought it was a figment of my imagination.  Last week, though, I started breaking out in hives from head to toe, and it stopped when my period came, but I get clots because of a pause during the cycle, and I had an extreme breakout just before it passed.  Then, the breakout stopped.  Of course, I can't document this for another month..

Try some Seventh Generation pads.  They have no chlorine in them, and it will help a lot with that.

After I had my son I had polyphrenitis which is an abscess on my kidney and everything changed after that.. I cannot wear tampons because of the difference in blood flow. it's not heavy or light change but more of a mucousy period so the tampons don't absorb it. I will try to change pads again and look for that powder you were describing. Thanks I'll let you know if it helps.

Your body changes every so many years, and things that once bothered you may not now, and vice versa. It sounds like the irritation is due to the moisture being contained in theat one area. Try changing pads again. There is also a feminine powder that you can buy, to promote dryness down there. Just sprinkle some on the pad. If you are too sensitive for that powder, try just plain baking soda. It will change the PH of the fluids. Have you ever tried tampons? That way no moisture can accumulate externally.
