Almost 2 months Post-Op Laparoscopy problems

So I have endometriosis. I have been diagnosed with it for about a year and a half and I have already had 2 laparoscopies done. I had the most recent one the last week of Sept. (Sept. 25). I didn't really have any bleeding after. Maybe just a day. (I was bad and had sex with my fiancé about 4 days after my surgery but it actually made me feel better. During it, not after)  Now with the birth control I'm on, I don't have a period. I might have a cyst rupture (I have the Chocolate cysts because of my endo) and that's usually it. On Halloween, I had my "period" which was WAY worse than I EVER remember having it. I was bleeding SO much I swear I was in the bathroom at least 1 time an hour. I have never had it like that. I was heavy, dark, lots of clots. Now I didn't go to my doc. Yes I was scared but I work in Emergency Medical and I HATE going to the doc. I'll go to the doc if I am dying and that's about it. So I waited through it. It actually lasted a full week. That NEVER happens. So it stopped on Nov. 7. It was all good for about a week and now I have started cramping AGAIN. I have been nauseous, moody, crampy, and I even started lightly spotting again. I can feel the pain in my lower back and I haven't been sleeping.

I know this has been long and I am sorry. I just need to see if anyone else has had this happen. I am going to my OBGYN this week. But it would be nice to have some sort of input from someone else who has dealt with endo and any of the crap that comes with it.

After surgery are you guys not taking any form of hormone to suppress your periods and ovulation? Just curious because I feel this is key. A successful surgery is one thing but maintaining pain is another. Let me know :)

Hi there-

I am 5 weeks post op excision surgery and my first period 2 weeks ago was the worst I've EVER experienced.  It was pretty much exactly what you described.  After my last surgery I didn't bleed for a year so I had no frame of reference.  But I am a member of many groups on Facebook (Endometriopolus, The World Endometriosis Forum, and The Endometriosis network of Canada) So from what I've read on there, it is totally normal.  This forum is pretty quiet in terms of support so I would highly recommend you join these groups.  You will find answers to all of your questions, and lots of support and love from fellow endo sisters.  Hang in there, it does get better.
