Endo and pregnancy

I have had Endometriosis for about 2 years now. And recently I have felt that I may be pregnant. Does anyone know if you should feel pain in your stomach if you are? Or if the Endo pain goes away when you are pregnant?

HI,
The pregnant state does help in suppressing the endometriosis because the levels of progesterone rise in pregnancy. However this does not happen in early pregnancy. Also pregnancy cannot be diagnosed based on symptoms only. If periods are missed then a pregnancy test can be taken. Serum HCG levels and an ultrasound scan will help confirmation of pregnancy.
Hope this helps.

Ya, that does help. My period is like 3 days late already. Should I wait a lil longer before doing a test? And is it possible to have a false negative?

I was also wondering. My gyno that I saw like a month ago told me because of my Endo, I on;y have two options. Go on a new birth control which is the new needles which seem expensive. Or to have another baby than go for a hystorectomy. Are those my only options??

You can certainly be p/g. I suggest taking an HPT. If you continue to be late, call your OB/GYN. The 2 options that you were given, are certainly not the only ones. I would highly suggest seeking out an actual Endometriosis Specialist. There are only about 9-10 in the U.S. Back in 2010, I was given the option on Lupron or Hyster. I finally sought out a specialist in Atlanta, GA which is over 700miles away from me and he helped tremendously. With a specialist, they excise (cut) out all endo spots and suspected endo spots instead of just burning it leaving the "roots" of it behind to grow back later. Check out Center for Endometriosis Care in GA. Browse through their pages and see what you think...Good Luck!

I am waiting for a call back from a Gyno who has been studying it for years now here in Brantford. My period still hasn't come yet and it is never late like this. But I did a pregnancy test last night and it said negative. But there is something going that I can't explain. Normally before I get my period I am in excruciating pain. And I am during. And this month, I have NO pain where I would normally have pain from the Endo. My period being late is something else. And all of a sudden, I can eat ice cream and drink milk. And last month, I couldn't without it causing severe discomfort!
When I had my Lap, they just burned off the Endo. And my Aunt who has a Gyno as a close friend told her that she has never heard of a Lap. being done like mine was. And I am pretty sure it came back like right away. I was experiencing the same pain as before I had it done.

I would call your doctor and request a blood hcg test to be sure you are or arent pregnant. Good luck and keep me posted!
