I think I have endo...I want to talk to other women who've gone through this.

Ok, so I'm 23 (almost 24) yrs old and since I was about 10 I've delt with excrusiating periods (enough to make me curl up into the fetal position and cry uncontrollably) and I done every treatment in the book. Birth control of all kinds, painkillers of all kinds (finally found one powerful enough to kill my pain and let me work), and hot things like a heating pad, a hot shower, and even hot tea. However, it just masks all my pain and this year in particular, my periods have become excrusiatingly worse. I've missed a lot of work due to this and I want treatment. For the most part my pain will only be for 48-72 hrs during my period (which are very regular but extremely heavy) but this time around I've been have severe pain on my right side of my pelvis and down my right thigh and I'm not having my period. Also, I've recently noticed a lot of gas and pressure while urinating. This is a new symptom that scares me.

I recently changed OBGYN's and was VERY pleased with her approach to finding put why I'm in so much pain. Luckily, I have a father who beleives that I am telling the truth on this and even talked to the doctor himself because he was wanting to see some relief for me. I had an ultrasound a week before Christmas this yr and it revealed nothing. The doctor stated it was normal. I told her that I still wanted to know if endo was the reason for all my pain, so she stated that within the next month she will schedule a laproscopy to verify if it is or not and if it is, she will remove the endo. I'm so pleased I found the right doctor. The surgery scares me, but I reall can't take much more of this.

I had and have the exact same problem since I was 12 I was the same way I would be screaming in pain puking passing out I even had to be rushed to the hospital one day for passing out trying to get to the bathroom and smashed my head open. I was terrified about the surgery but it really didnt hurt that much, not near as bad at the pain from the endometriosis anyways. I had to have frozen stuff frozen bag of pees on my tummy at all  times cold showers anything hot made it worse. After the surgery it didnt take to long to heal I had some pain in my stomack for a couple months the dr told me they just hit a small nerve but that pain went away. but all in all trust me it is worth it :)

I was a bit scared of having surgery as well and was worried I would get too anxious so I talked to my dr about it and to make things a little easier he gave my some valium before hand so I wasn't  too stressed out it really made a difference....I also found that nurofen plus helped with period pain and I did small yoga exercises that are really helpful for endometriosis

The same exact thing happened to me when I was around your age. I was in so much pain I could barely function at work. I had the laparoscopy done, the endometriosis was removed, and I was back at work in four days. The pain from the surgery was nothing compared to the pain of the endo. You should be fine :)
