I'm scared and need help. Please?
At age 15 I went to the E.R due to a ruptured cyst. I was then sent to an OB and she informed me, after an ultrasound, that I had endometriosis. I'm now 23, married, and trying to conceive. My husband is in the army and we move around a lot so finding a doctor at the moment is hard. Now, to my question. Last month (July) I was late on my period. My cycle ended up being 43 days vs. my normal 32 days. I of course, became excited thinking I might be pregnant. But then I got, what I thought, was my period. It was light, then dark and heavy, then gradually died off. I had mild cramps but nothing like usual. It lasted 5-6 days. Well guys, that was 2 weeks ago. And I'm on, what I think, is my period. AGAIN!! I was shocked last night when I saw spotting. It's never happened before. I've heard spotting is normal. But as the day progressed, I'm in pain! I'm cramping so bad, and vomiting. Any idea what in the world is happening? Is this common? Did I miscarry a few weeks ago? Please help. Advice? Experience? Thank you do much for your time.

I have researched this disease now for over a decade and was misdiagnosed for 14 yrs. I know that if there is an endometrioma then you have moderate to severe disease as per Dr. Redwine. He is one of the top specialists in the world for Endometriosis and he has since retired but his knowledge needs to be spread so that other doctors and patients are well aware of this disease.
Having irregular bleeding is a sign of Endo and various other things as well.
It is possible to have a child but with Endo everyone is different. Someone could have Stage I endo and not conceive and lucky for me I was stage IV and I did conceive.
If you have been trying over a year and you have not had success I would def see a fertility doctor that specializes in Endometriosis. That is a must.
Will the procedure harm your chances? Well there is no way to really tell, some people have had Endo removed off their tubes and succeeded and some not. It is really a 50/50 chance if I am honest however if you do nothing about the Endo that is growing inside then your chances will start to go lower and lower. It needs to be removed.
That is my personal opinion, I am not a doctor just an advocate and a survivor still struggling with this disease.
I would take all of your results and you should keep them all now as well as this will be helpful when finding a specialist as well as not having to repeat tests over and over again.

Thank you for all your help. Yes. You are correct.. She did mention the cyst was endometrioma. The frustration thing was that nothing was ever done about it and didnt say much. I just moved and I'm searching for a OB now because I know every little about this. And I'm on my "second" period. I just had one two weeks ago. So with that said, any info about it? Personal experiences? Keep in mind my husband and I are tryin to have a child. Is it possible? I really wish they gave me more information about it. Instead, they acted a little rushed and too busy for me:/ And Ticked, will that procedure of harm my chances of fertility?
Yes that is what I said. If her doctor said she had endometriosis from the ultrasound it was probably because it was an endometrioma not an ovarian cyst.
Endometrioma (chocolate cyst) and ovarian cysts are two different things. You should really be seen by a doctor for correct diagnosis.
If the cyst is an Endometrioma I am sorry but surgery is necessary. Nothing will shrink an Endometrioma. An endometrioma is a sign of moderate to severe disease and that is fact. If the doctor said by the ultrasound its Endometriosis then most likely what she saw was an Endometrioma.
Ovarian cysts and endo are two completely different issues. The only thing they have in common is they are gyn issues that both cause pain. I have pcos and endo. I have had multiple surgeries for both things. It's best you see a doctor again to sort out what kind of pain your having. Cysts will show up on ultrasound so there isn't a need for surgery if it happens to be your problem unless they can't get it to go away.
Okay first let me ask you a question. When your doctor diagnosed you with Endometriosis was it through a laparoscopic surgery? That is the only way to diagnose. I am not saying you don't have it but so you know that is the only way to diagnose the disease.
That being said if there was an endometrioma that burst I will tell you that it is documented that women who have Endometriomas are likely to have moderate to severe Endo. You also had a cyst burst which means the Endo has spread everywhere.
The only way to help rid this pain is to find an Excision Endometriosis specialist to cut the Endo out from the root. This is absolutely necessary if you do not have it done what can happen is that damage to other organs can occur such as the bowels, bladder, ureters, etc and once those are damaged like in my case there is little you can do to fix this.
I was undiagnosed for 14yrs as you can see in my journals here I went through the ringer. I have severe damage to my bowel and bladder because it took so long for them to find anything. The Endometrioma that grew when I was 26 was the indicator of severe Endo and I was booked for surgery 3 months later.
Vomitting, numbness, pain, heavy bleeding, sharp rectal pain, gas pain are all signs of Endometriosis.

I would tend to think you may have a ruptured cyst. A cyst can delay your period and a ruptured cyst can cause extreme pain on the affected side. You can also have pain in your thigh and back from the cyst. Also vomiting is another symptom for a ruptured cyst. I am just experienceing this right now. Please make sure to see a doctor wether its at an office, urgent care or hospital ER to be properly diagnosed. I hope you get to feeling better.
