Lap Surgery/Ovary Removal

I have had 4 previous laps so I am not new to this surgery and my recovery time is usually pretty quick.  I am scheduled for another one next Friday but I am doing this to remove my right ovary/tube.  I have severe pain in that ovary and get frequent cysts.  I am wondering if the recovery time will be the same or longer.  I imagine the surgery/recovery time will be the same just wondering if any of you have had this done and was it the same as your other laps or did it take longer.  I can only imagine I will feel better once this is done because the daily constant pain is quite intense.  I am so excited to have this ovary removed.  I know it will diminish my chances to have 2nd child but I am okay with only 1.  Just want to be pain free for a while....want to wait to get a hyst as long as I can.  Thanks!

Just an update...I had my surgery to remove my rt ovary/tube.  It went really well...had on Friday and was back to work on Monday (half-day/desk job).  By the follwing week I was feeling pretty good.  Then 3 weeks after surgery my belly button starting hurting something fierce...felt like somone stabbing me from inside.  I got an infection from a hematoma tearing away and my belly button and surrounding stomach muscles got infected.  After a second try at an antibiotic it is cleared up finally.  Now today I am starting to spot...think it is time for my first period finally.  I am very worried about the pain with this and I am starting to get a migraine now also.  I am about tempted to call and ask for more pain medicine as I don't want to get stuck over the weekend without doctor and pain medicine if this is going to be bad.  Has anyone had bad period after ovary removal.  Thanks!!

Had a cyst/ovary/tube reomoved recently. My first lap surgery. Was feeling nauseous for the first few days. Started drving four days after surgery (with a small pillow in between my tummy and the seat belt). On an airplane 6 days after, with a light check-in luggage. Started swmming at the end of the third week. Please don't follow what I do. Check with your doctor. Am relatively fit and healthy, and stubborn!

I don't know the answer to your question, but good luck with your surgery! I hope it goes well and you finally get some real relief.
