Severe anxiety with mono/ ebv

I got diagnosed with mono on December 28th 2020. I went to the ER because it sent me into a crazy panic attack. I felt like I had no idea who I was.
Since then I physically feel fine. My spleen is enlarged and hurts sometimes due to mono. But the anxiety and depression that I’ve been feeling is killing me. I’ve read a lot of forums telling me it’s the mono. And I pray that’s what it is. All I do is cry. I can’t even be at home alone by myself because I feel I have extreme separation anxiety from my family. So I have been staying with them. I just wanna feel normal and like myself again. I just turned 21. This isn’t normal. I’ve read things on Monolaurin? Someone please help me. If you’ve had similar symptoms please tell me what helped you. I just wanna be the active 21 year old I was 3 months ago.

Also—a good multivitamin. And, of course, see your doctor and get a stre test if you can. Mono and strep are cousins—but in our experience the doctors will treat strep, but say mono can’t be treated and won’t give my daughter anything to treat it. Which is why we do the naturals instead. Good luck!

I am a mom in my 60s. I spent my daughter’s entire childhood—and still, really—dealing with anxiety related to mono/strep.

Monolaurin is totally safe and has a good track record for EBV. Yes, try it.

My go-to still for my daughter, who is your age, is liposomal vitamin C—about 4 grams a day till symptoms are gone, then 3 grams for two days, then 2 grams, then 1.

Good supportive things to add in are echinacea tea, epsom salts baths at night, a B vitamin and zinc. A packet of Emergen-C Immune will provide all the good supportive vitamins and minerals.

These things were prescribed to up by a top biomedical doctor many years ago, and work well for us—and are totally safe.

Good luck sweetheart—post your progress!

I was recently diagnosed with EBV - they did a full blood panel and I was testing HIGH on the results for it.
The EBV gave me lots of crazy symptoms and anxiety / panic attack was def one of them. I stayed with my family for a totally off 4 weeks until I was able to get better
The anxiety would come out of nowhere. I could be fine and it would just rush through my body and I felt like I was going to have a panic attack and pass out.
The depression also kicked in along with everything else. I would sob for days and finally one day I had a mental breakdown and just felt like I was losing my mind. You need to find an integrative dr or someone who is experienced with EBV to help you get back on your feet.
I’m taking all kinds of natural supplements as well as only one prescription med to help me get sleep. My body was under so much stress and after 5 weeks I finally have relief and starting to feel like myself again.

Do you know how did you possibly catch this mono?  Try to get the test done for the EBV panel (EBV IgM/Igg/EA/EBNA).   You may also want to test for CMV virus since CMV also causes mono.
