FYI, I read on one of the reviews in Amazon for olive leaf supplement that a doctor recommended Olive Leaf supplement to a family to increase their low WBC count.  Therefore, it may be  that Olive Leaf might increase your WBC count as per the review.  I've been taking Olive leaf supplement to help with EBV and my WBC count is now hight at 16.  I hope this is the healthy White Blood cells.  In any case, I am worried.

hello,

how much red margin algae and olive leaf extract do you take? Are you on any other supplements/medications? My EBV QN PCR level is 600 :/ I've been feeling severe brain fog, fatigue and dizziness for the past 8 months.

I went to see an Infectious Disease specialist last week and while she did not recheck the antibodies that were run in 9/2010, she did say that the recent EBV DNA QN PCR, does show that the virus has reactivated but all I can do it treat the symptoms. An antiviral will not work. SO I started taking Red Marine Algae, Olive Leaf Extract, Acetyl L-Carnitine in conjunction with Fish Oil, CO Q10 and a Multi Vitamin.  My cardiologist thinks that I may have developed POTS  (postural orthostatic tachycardia) on top of it all!

FTR, few physicians are trained in detail to accurately interpret the results properly and some do not accept reactivated or chronic mono as anything of import, just as many do not acknowledge FMS or CFS.

The mono spot test will not tell you if you have reactivated or chronic mono.  It is similar in results as a throat swab for strep.  The mono spot tells you negative or positive but it takes the EBV complete panel to tell you have you have reactivated or chronic mono.  The strep throat swab tells you if the acute symptoms are still in the throat but if the strep has self-contained, a throat swab will not tell you if it is in your blood and going to your weakest organ to attack/destroy it.  Only a blood test will reveal that.

The EBV titer test checks to see whether you have been exposed to the Epstein-Barr Virus (one of the viruses which causes mononucleosis); it can show whether you have an active infection, a previous infection, and/or a dormant case of the virus.  I'm assuming you had this test done because you're sick; is that correct?  Also, did you doctor mention anything about mono, or give you the monospot test?
I'm finding it a little difficult to navigate your test results for sure, but it looks to me like they are all positive, meaning you have been infected with the virus.  Don't be alarmed though; about 90% of people have obtained the virus by age 30.  Chances are, if you're sick now, you'll get over it, and the virus will go into remission and stay dormant for the rest of your life (there's no way to "get rid" of it).  Hope that helps, and don't be afraid to ask any more questions!

I have an appointment to discuss my lab results on Tuesday morning. I always like to see my results and gather questions before discussing with my dr. Was just curious as to what the test was and its signifigance

You need to ask your Doctor about that.  Test results should only be interpreted by a trained professional..Not an online forum...I'm surprised they would do that blood work and not explain it to you..The only time that should happen is if there's nothing remarkable about the blood work to explain..So I assume it's all normal.
