Have mono, but not EBV?
I have been sick for almost three months. My Dr. Finally had me get tested for mono using the heterophile test, it came back positive. My Dr. Then had me tested for EBV and CMV. They came back negative. My dr. Said that I have regular mono. Is it possible to have just regular mono and not EBV?

I know this is an old post, but if you were to read it again, I found some information that could help: EBV is the most common cause of mono. According to the CDC, examples of other causes of mono include cytomegalovirus (CMV), hepatitis A, hepatitis B or hepatitis C, rubella, and toxoplasmosis.
