Strong onset after longer time period of weakness?

Hi,

I am suffering the typical EBV symptoms since 1.5 weeks (headache, pain in the limbs, tonsillitis etc). Blood test has shown that I have EBV.
So far, so good. However, already since a couple of months I have the feeling that my body is weaker than in the past. I feel this in terms of weaker performance in sports (running, gym activities) and weight loss. Moreover, already in February 2017 I had one week of sick leave with symptoms like headache and pain in the limbs, however much lighter than it is now. Note that I haven't had any of these symptoms since appr. 10 years. I have been quite a strong person in that sense, I am 27 years old now.

My question now is: Is it realistic that I have already been infected with EBV in the beginning of this year and that my body first reacted with lighter symptoms and a long period of weakness, before it finally ended up with the more typical disease process after a couple of months?

Not sure if anybody can help me out here. But I would really appreciate it!
