Normal reasons for erections in young guys

Hey guys,
Im 18 and haven't had sex before, but I'm wondering if its normal not to get erections while kissing, especially if thats all that happens, nothing more. Just that I've often kissed girls in nightclubs (admittedly while drunk) but only had the beginning of an erection, and not getting properly hard, even while grinding a bit. Is that anything to worry about ? Also, sometimes i've gotten erections while watching porn but they eventually go soft if i havent actually masturbated. Is that any thing I should worry about ?

i agree completely with trd. it is pretty much normal to not get a proper hard-on from kissing them.  but how do you watch porn and not play with yourself? haha

btw good work on being a virgin still, i lost my virginity at 14 and i kind of wish i had waited aswell, but u can't change that.

Great news man, you are completely ok.

It is normal to not get erections if grinding at nightclubs because if you frequently are around females, frequently make out with them, and frequently doing that kind of dancing, it is nothing new to you. If a guy was to grow up and never kiss a female, and never danced "passionately" with them, then when it's his first couple times, he would probably get an erection.

As far as watching porn and going soft, that is normal too, considering you did get an erection.

Oh, and it's good you mentioned the drunk thing (although 18 years old is not old enough to drink so I would have to say you should stop), alcohol can either make men get erections more easily or more difficult. For instance, when I drink, it makes me NOT in the mood.

Honestly, even though you should stop drinking, as far as your sexual issues, there are none. However, you can get more replies here and if still feel something could be wrong, please consult your doctor.
