Long term strained tendon

I injured a tendon in my right foot several times.  Recently, 5 months, I have had severe pain, could not walk on it.  I used an ankle brace, heat, ice and rested it but it has not resolved itself completely.  Is there anything left to do?

Hi Anchor, how are you doing? Hope you are now feeling better. Are you able to walk freely? Hope you had rested adequately as most of the soft tissue injuries needs complete rest to heal and may take couple of months. Try to prevent the triggers as suddent movement of the foot and undue pressure over the foot. Few sessions of physical therapy is a good idea. Have you consulted a orthopedic surgeon to get evaluated further. Continue to apply local heat, pain gel and applying the heat at least for couple of weeks. Rest is best way to get better. Take care and share your thoughts.

Hi Achor, how are you? Can you give some details as to which tendon is injured and whether you have received any treatment or not yet? Repetitive minor injuries to tendon without much rest can cause severe discomfort and pain. Icing, applying moist heat and pain medications can just give you temporary relief of pain, which returns back. Take complete rest and consult an orthopedic surgeon and get evaluated. Take care and share your thoughts.
