I've had excessive hunger for around a year now that doesn't go away at all when I eat (in other words still starving after large meals). I do plenty of diet related research and am positive my diet is great (never had a problem with gaining weight on it in the past). Only sometimes, If I eat very large amounts of fat and protein I feel a bit fuller for a few hours at best. Thyroid, morning cortisol, B12, and iron tests came back all within range and normal as judged by an MD and ND. Vitamin D came back as "out of range" as well as B12 and iron showing results on the low end of the range. I started supplementing those three for good measure. Some of the tests were used to judge possible celiac disease. I abstain from eating wheat though but might have ate a small amount by accident before the hunger started to take hold more. It was a gradual process starting with feeling more and more hungry at the beginning of a very stressful job I started last summer that had some bad fallout after I had quit as well. The naturopathic doctor I reluctantly saw said that I have gut/absorption problems and they'd have to order a very expensive stool test kit I'm guessing to replace good bacteria or determine a course of action. She says GP's don't acknowledge the gut as potentially being a huge source of problems. Will this go away on it's own or will I have to seek treatment? What's going wrong here? I'm taking an anti-fungal terbinafine for a possible infection as determined by the GP I saw and for a massive arm and chest rash. Is the possible infection blocking weight loss or affecting appetite? Otherwise I'm guessing my problem could be that I'm not absorbing anything (nutrients), hence the constant starvation. I can't do normal, daily things being constantly starving and light headed. This is ******.
