Soccer injury a shin splint?

I was playing soccer today, and I got kicked really hard in my shin. It hurt for a while, but the pain subsided until the ball struck the exact same spot at least 3 times. My shin is in a good bit of pain when I move it a lot, and I was wondering if I might have a shin splint. Any ideas?

Plaza, I would ask your coach if you could take a week off from soccer but still work out in the gym with weights and walk on a treadmill.

Tiger, Gravity has pulled the blood and swelling down to your ankle. I take the shin guards didn't work to good that day huh?

I've been slowly developing shin splints for the past couple weeks. My problem is that I don't have enough time (1/2 weeks) to heal them properly. It's neccesary that I play soccer a couple hours a day, 5/7 days a week. The pain in my right shin is increasing to the point where I limp every time we sprint. Is there any 'quick cure'?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that it's not a shin splint now, but a bruise. It's strange though, my ankle is actually discolored and swollen as opposed to my shin, which is sore.

I doubt this is a shin splint.  I have never heard of someone developing them from a hard contact. You might just have a deep bruise.  Shin splints typically develop from improper running form on hard surfaces or too much running on hard surfaces.  They also tend to develop slowly, and don't just suddenly appear.
