is the stationary bike good for weight loss?

Hello, I just bought a stationary bike and I'm on going on a mostly veggie fruit diet with protein shakes. I just had two babies back to back and have a lot of weight to lose. I was wondering how much ill need to bike to lose weight, right now I bike thirty minutes at a good resistance and then do some core and arm stuff. I use to be a runner but no longer can run like I use to so I was trying to work off some weight before I run again. Does anyone know the difference in calories burned between biking and running?

It's all in your head!!! You have to make up your mind and do it! After a good workout you feel GOOD because Endorphins are the bodys natural pain killers. They act as a opoid would and seem to have an analgesic affect and cause a sense of well-being. Endorphins are released upon pain, strenuous activities, extreme happiness or when a man loves a woman.  A lot of people may recognize this term from the idea of the “Runner’s High.”

I don't know what you're using as a heart rate monitor but I suggest using one that straps around your chest and has a wrist monitor. If your bike has one that is built into it they aren't always accurate.

Go to any sport shop and buy the Everlast Interval Training Round Timer
it's about $20.00 set it for 30 seconds and 90 seconds and when it beeps you change your speed and resistance.

The Peak 8 routine it will quickly raise your heart rate 8 times for very short bursts, with a cooling down period in
between. Ideally you’ll be sprinting or cycling full throttle for 30 seconds with a 90 second cool down in between
each outburst.
This is the fastest way to lose fat and build muscle in the body. Peak 8 actually stimulates the growth hormone in
the body. I encourage you to visit Dr Mercola’s site to learn more about Peak 8 fitness because I personally feel that
it is one of the best ways to exercise, especially considering the speed at which you can lose fat and build muscle.
I highly recommend you read this article and watch the videos on the page. It will give you all the information you
need to know about Peak 8 – Flood Your Body With This “Youth Hormone” In Just 20 Minutes
What you eat after Peak 8 training does matter
It’s recommended that you do not eat sugar or carbohydrate for 2 hours after the Peak 8 exercise because these
foods can impact the release of the growth hormone in the body. The links are http://www.youtube.com/watch?

Figure your heart rate by this formula
220 minus your age gives you your maximum heart rate. You should try to get your heart rate between 65% and 85% of your maximum heart rate.
You burn 30 percent more fat from doing cardio after a weights session as opposed to cardio on its own.
You can't lose weight by just doing exercise! you need to diet!!
Get the OK from your doctor!!!
