Hi jordanzorizorz, thanks for the reply and giving the information. Well, to avoid the repetitive stress and strain to small muscles of hand as you tend to spend more time on PC you need to take frequent breaks of at least couple of minutes to do stretch, gentle massage and relaxation. Its good idea to adjust the height of chair so that your hand rest is horizontally with the keyboard. Upward tilt/downward tilt will cause pain and strain. Also, it is not good idea to go ahead with the push-ups for few more days. Anyways, you can consult a ergonomist for more details. Take care and keep updating.

suri123 thankyou very much for your advice i havent consulted a othopedician as my wrist dont seem to hurt anymore ive raised my chair so that it reduces the bend in my wrist although i think it would be impossible for me totake a break every 30 minutes while on the computer since i am on alot but my wrists seem to be fine and ive been doing push ups on my knuckles instead of the normal way

Hi jordanzorizorz, how are you doing? Hope you might be feeling better with the pain? Also hope the link was of some help to know more about the repetitive strain/stress injury. Have you consulted the orthopedician and got examined? Keep continuing the massage and casual stretches with proper rest and take care of not working continuously for more than half hour on your computer. Avoid any strenuous exercise or undue pressure over the wrist as it might lead to compression symptoms. Frequent heat application will be helpful. Do update on your doctor visit and advice. Take care.

Hi jordanzorizorz, how are you doing? You might be repeatedly injuring your wrist by straining without giving proper rest. It is better not to sit with computer more than 30 mins continuously. Try to take as many short breaks as possible and relax. Gentle massage, stretch and hot fomenting would be of great help. This is common with soft ware persons who tend to spend more time on keyboard and mouse. Hope following info will be helpful to you - "Repetitive strain injury (RSI), also called cumulative trauma disorder, occupational overuse syndrome, or work related upper limb disorder, is any of a loose group of conditions resulting from overuse of a tool, eg. computer, guitar or knife, or other activity that requires repeated movements. It is a syndrome that affects muscles, tendons and nerves in the hands, arms and upper back".

Take care and update your progress.

I would also try warming up your wrists before  and after doing anything that might stress them.  Hold your hands in gentle fist and roll your wrists several times in each direction.
Then push the palm side of your hand towards your wrist with your opposite hand and hold for about 20 sec and then press your hand back in a flexed position and hold for another 20 sec.
For push ups try rolling a small towel up and placing it under your wrist with your fingers hanging off of the towel  to decrease the angle of the bend in your wrist.

Here is a quick test for you. Hold your arm (the one that hurts) straight in front of you with your palms facing the floor. Bend your wrist 90 degrees with the help of your other arm so that your fingers are pointing at the floor and your palm is facing you. Hold your wrist like that for 15 seconds and see if you get any pain or tingling. If you do then your typing is probably causing a repetitive motion injury. You should have that looked at but in the meantime I would suggest buying those handlebars that you can use to do pushups. That will allow you to keep your wrist straight while doing push ups and relieve the pressure on your wrist. Hope that helps.
