Raccoon need a rebies vacine

I have a rescued raccoon, I found him lost from Mom when he was 10oz estimated 4 weeks old. Well now he's coming up on 6 months old and 15 lbs. I've been trying to get him vaccinated but no one wants to do it. I'll do it myself if I can get the meds. It's time I started reintroducing him to the outdoor world, and see if he wants to go back to nature.

Well, I pretty much know the legalities. The laws vary a bit state to state, and I was able to get RabVac3 from jeffers pet supply and he has been vaccinated, along with both K9 and feline distemper vacs. Much to my surprise, he didn't even flinch as I gave him all 3 shots.

In research prior to posting I found out what shots most rehabers give and that's what I went with. Since he is going to be going out with wild animals and possibly returning home, there was no way I was going to let him go out unprotected.

A rabies vaccine can only be administered by a licensed veterinarian you it is illegal to keep wild life without a license. I realize that you are trying to help the little guy out, but my point is that you aren't going to find some to vaccinate the raccoon. Also, I imagine that the rabies vaccine has not been studied in raccoons, so I would worry about any adverse reactions.
