I know a lot of things can cause flashes and floaters, but in my case I had them, as well as a red eye and sensitivity to light, and the problem was diagnosed as Uveitis, which needed urgent treatment with Pred Forte (cortico steroid) eye drops. They cleared the inflammation up quickly.
Signs of uveitis are:
1. increased flashes and floaters
2. redness or pinkness of the eyeball, especially around the iris (in the case of anterior uveitis)
3. sensitivity to light caused by iris spasm.
4. tiny pupil that doesn't get bigger in the dark (caused by an iris spasm)
for the past ten days eyes become automatically red when sit on the computer and then becomes normal.excessive blinking and sensivity to light also seen.kindly suggest some medication and cause of probleem since next appointment is after a month.
dr uncle, thank u so much for replying my question. i am 21. after the dilation and opthalmascope check by the retina surgeon, many tiny floaters cam into existence.i can feel the stress while concentrating on my studies while my optemetrist says ur vision is fine.well dont know whether should i go for another retina checkup.the retina was supposedly fine by the other doctor.how long should i wait.also the tiny worms which i see r due to retina problem or cornea?plz reply.i stay in india.
the "worms" are really neither retinal nor corneal. they are VITREAL. they are collagen debris in your vitreous near your retina. they are nowhere close to your cornea.
no eyedrop or tonometry or dilation can cause floaters or permanent vision loss or blurriness. its something else causing it. but not the eyedrops.
