Accidental monovision - part 2

Dr. JCHMD,
Thanks for your reply. I have couple of other questions based on your feedback.
Now my left eye is able to see things 20 to 30 inches away perfectly. If I set the right eye for intermediate vision
1. I will not require glasses for most of my indoor activities, right?
2. I will not have issues with depth perception, right?
3. Can I have my distance vision corrected by wearing glasses? I do not want to have trouble driving my car or enjoying the view from top of a hill?
4. Lets say after the surgery on my other eye the glasses RX ends up being more than + or 1.50 (accidentally or by mistake) can the depth perception issues be corrected by wearing glasses?

Thanks in advance,
Sri

I can only offer you a non-professional opinion.  I'd suggest that you go for plano (or -.25) in your other eye.  This should give you excellent distance vision and some intermediate vision.  You will need glasses for reading only.  Your depth perception should be excellent.  Wearing progressive glasses would give you excellent vision at all distances.  (BTW, being plano and -.75 is NOT monovision.  Many people naturally have a .75 diopter difference between their eyes.  I can't imagine that it will cause you any problems at all, but it will provide you with a larger range of focus.)

It is -0.75. It is still fluctuating and it might end up with with -1.0. For reading I am using +1.50.

What is your present glasses prescription for the eye that just had surgery?
