Boil near eye question

I had a boil near my eye about 10 days ago, I already went to an eye doctor, he gave an eye ointment and antibiotics. He also advise for warm compress. About 5 days ago it already drained on it's own but there's still a lump.

I found a stock photo of the exact condition I had: http://www.sciencephoto.com/media/251682/view

It's no longer that big but there's still a noticeable small lump that affects the way I raise my eyebrows. It's holding back my eyebrow when I try to raise it. I was wondering how long until it goes back to normal? And if there's something else I need to do to speed up the healing?

Then its likely this is still swollen inflamed tissue and getting smaller in size over the coming weeks is the normal course.

Thank you very much doc for the reply.

It's not painful anymore but it's somehow red and hard when pushing. During the time it was draining, I tried pushing it further until there's no more drain. Thank you again, I appreciate it highly.

If it was that big (photo) it probably is going to take 4-8 weeks for the swelling and fibrous tissue to regress. If its painful, red or feels "squishy" like there is pus inside you need to see an Eye MD to see if it needs to be drained further.  JCH MD
