Bright/Wavy/Blind Spot in Left Eye

I've had a bright/blind/wavy spot in my  eye for the past 5 weeks. My left eye is highly mytopic. I first noticed the spot when I was under a lot of stress. I've been to the Ophthalmologist where I've had a dilated eye exam, fundus pictures, OCT, and visual field test. My visual field test was perfect. The doctor did find the spot on my dilated exam and the spot also showed up on the OCT. She said at the moment the spot is inactive. She wants to see me in 3 months for another dilated eye exam. She also gave me a amsler grid to track my spot. The spot is just very annoying in my vision. My questions are 1. What does the doctor mean the spot is inactive? 2. Is this spot ever going to go away?

I think the advice you were given is unsatisfactory.  The only way it would be satisfactory is if the Eye MD ophthalmologist that saw you is a retina/vitreous/macular specialist. If a general ophthalmologist you should have been referred on.  A test you should likely have is a fluorescein angiogram of the eye.  I would contact the ophthalmologist and ask for a referral immediately to a Eye MD that specializes in retina/vitreous.  If you did see a retina specialist then you deserve to  be told more than there is a spot in your eye. Ask for the working diagnosis.   TAKE ACTION. THIS CONCERNS ME.
