Your second consultant will probably help you a great deal.
Your options before IOL removal: glasses, contacts, lasik surgery.
JCH MD
I have read a few of your posts, but still don't have a full picture of your situation. How long ago did you have the procedure? Did you get the newer HD model? I have HD's and am still working on improving my distance vision 2.5 months after surgery.
Has your doctor told you your refraction (like -0.50 diopters)? Do you have any astigmatism? Can your vision be corrected with glasses? Has your doctor mentioned the possibility that a YAG procedure might help (Don't get a YAG without getting understanding it fully, by the way, especially if you think you might want to explant this lens and get a different one).
Getting a second opinion is definitely the right thing to do. Hopefully this new doctor can help with these questions, and present the options such as PRK, contact lenses, or whatever. Personally I would view a lens exchange as a last resort, and hopefully you won't need it.
Good luck.
