Cataract lens what do these numbers mean?

Hi l am having cataract surgery soon with the vivity EDOF lens, l told my surgeon my main aim is to have good distance vision and l dont mind glasses for reading , my surgeon said he is adjusting by non dominant eye very slightly for near and dominant eye set totally for distance , l told him l dont like the idea of monovision because eyes might seem offbalance and hard to adjust to but he said it will only be a 0.5 D difference between the left and right eye and l wont even notice the difference between both eyes. He said the dominant right eye will be 19.5 and the left non dominant eye will be 20.5. Can you please explain what these numbers mean ? will these settings give me good quality distance vision in both eyes

I am stepping out of this. You need to discuss this with your surgeon if you don't understand. You may want to get a second opinion. I think I have told you to start with reading this:

Thanks l read it, My surgery is in a week l cannot speak to my surgeon again or get a second opinion in that time , l was wondering why you think l will disapointed .
Do you think l will be dispointed because premium lens like vivity have more risk and more people are dispointed with premium lens  or because the numbers of the settings l mentioned 19.5 and 20.5  . My surgery is in a week so it would be difficult to speak to my surgeon again but l could try to see him again
I have no more to say. There is a BIG problem if you live someplace where you cannot speak with the surgeon the week before surgery.  BEST OF LUCK
Hi its been 48 hours since my cataract surgery in my left non dominant eye with vivty toric 20.5d iol. l was a bit worried when you said its likely l would be dissappointed, but l am 100% happy with it, everything in my left eye now seems clear and vibrant, l can use the computer read the mobile phone without glasses , l have both great near intermediate and distance vision in the operated eye, l could not be more happy with it . l just hope the right eye next month goes as well.
I love happy stories. I am delighted that you have done so well, best of luck with your second eye.
It's good to hear your experience with the Vivity in your non-dominant eye targeted 0.5 myopic. I'm thinking of a similar strategy and have many of your same concerns. I take it that you are happy with the resulting distance vision in this eye.
