Contact lens problem. Please help.

So I am new in using contact lenses, this is just my second week of using contact Lens. It was my eye doctor who first inserted lens in my right eye, and she also the first one to remove it. On my left eye I am the one who put and remove the lens as a practice. It was under the supervision of my eye doctor.

The next day, I have to put the lenses alone. I don't encounter any problem with my left eye, but the right one feels a stinging feeling after putting the lens. It feels like burning, something like soap is inserted in my eye. The irritation made my eye watery. The feeling last for a minute.

The other next day, I wear again my lenses. No problem with the left but the right one feels like stinging and burning again. This time the irritation last for 20s.

As days passes, the irritation is lessen and the time I feel irritated it is shorten. Yesterday I decided to give my eye a rest in using contact lenses. This morning, I again wear my lens. Jo problem with left eye, but the right eye is irritated much. This is the worst irritation I feel. The burning and stinging feeling is worst the first time I use the lens, but the irritation this morning only lasts for 20 seconds.

DO YOU THINK I HAVE AN EYE PROBLEM IN MY RIGHT EYE? Thanks.

Thank alot dr. Hagan.

My problem is now resolved. My doctor gave me a new contact lens solution, free of chlorhexedine and thiomersal.

Happy new year!

You should ask this question of your new ophthalmologist.

Hi dr. Hagan,

I visited my doctor this day, she's an ophthalmologist. My contact lens was prescribed by an optometrist. I decided not to wear the lenses anymore.

I told my doctor about the problem I encountered with my red eye, so she gave me a test. Good news, she said that my left and right eye were both healthy. I ask if I can get contact lenses, she prescribed me a NEWLOOK contact lens. She advice me to wear lenses on occasional only.

At home, I inserted the lens. No problem in my left eye, but the right eye still feels burning-stinging feeling. Very thankful the feeling only lasts for 10 seconds. The pain is very light compared to my other days wearing contacts. I like this brand of lens also. I don't Evelyn feel the lenses were in my eyes.

Are there any other source of my right eye irritation?

Thanks,
Arjay

This is not "normal" you should leave your contacts out and return to the optometrist or ophthalmologist that fit you for a re-evaluation.
