Contacts to help glare from Iris Damage - does that work?

Question 1 - Has anyone been told or heard of light colored eyed people having more danger of damage to the iris during surgery/procedures? Maybe called a "thin" iris? Question 2 - Can someone with mild Fuchs Corneal Dystrophy wear contact lenses? I was told that if said damage to iris occurs a colored contact can be worn to offset the problem of glare.

Blue iris would not be more subject to damage but if damaged it would be more obvious than in a brown eye.  Mild Fuchs Dystrophy should present no problem to contact lens wear.
