Corneal Abrasion and now need glasses

I got attacked by an aloe vera plant about 2 1/2 weeks ago, went and got on antibiotic drops. Then a week later my vision was still blurry, so I called the eye doc saying I needed help still. Just went and saw a cornea specialist after my eye doctor got back to me a week after I complained and he told me my eye is fine and there is nothing wrong. He told me to go and get glasses since my vision is bad and also telling me I probably had this vision issue for a while I just never noticed.  Sigh.... first of all I am super blurry in my eye and would of never gone this long without seeing someone for it. Especially since I cannot see to read or far away. He told me it had nothing to do with my cornea abrasion and it was just a coincidence it happened at the same time as it. Plus my eyes being tired after a day of use and slight headache aren't from my loss of sight prob just from stress. I think they are full of it. How do you go from 20/20 vision, get an abrasion and then after it heals you have a haze covering your eye with some discomfort and dryness that you never had before????? I am so confused and concerned that my sight will never be 20/20 again. I am not sure what they are telling me is true, since it just doesn't add up to me at all.

I just noticed something I have never seen before as well, at night looking at street lights my right eye (the one that didn't get damaged) lights are round. The other eye that had the abrasion shows a boomerang shape. I tried googling it, but there is nothing out there about it.

If you know anything about this I would love to hear it.

Thank you for replying!

That is what I thought, but it seems weird that now I cannot see after the abrasion. How do you lose your vision like that all of a sudden and it has nothing to do with the abrasion. They couldn't explain that to me and just said "well it happens". Thank you for getting back to me I appreciate it.

In the am I am having discomfort when I open my eyes and he did nothing about that. Just told me eventually it will go away? At this point I don't know. I am thinking I need to get a second opinion on this. I haven't had any issues with my eyes at all in over 14 yrs and they kept telling me since I had no recent records they couldn't say for sure that I was 20/20. I didn't have any recent records since my sight in both eyes was clear. I could count leaves on a tree. Now, I cannot. They are telling me that I have been like this for a while almost like they do not believe me. Honestly, I am really upset about this and I feel I am not getting the care I need.

In general corneal abrasions do not change your refraction.  I have seen one patient who I have followed for many years have a change in astigmatism after a corneal abrasion.
