Crystalens and Depth Perception

This is probably premature, however, I'm very worried about my recent IOL (crystalens) implant in my left eye that I recieved one week ago. I was never warned, nor was it even mentioned, that I might loose my ability of depth perception. I have double halos, starburst, and ghost that I expected, but not DP lose to the degree of falling when I walk. I can't tell how much I need to raise my feet for steps. This reminds me of looking through a fisheye photographic lense. I have had no surgery to my right eye and wear no corrective lense. At this piont I plan to keep it this way. My right eye is nearsighted and about 20/30. I am 50 with early cataracts in both eyes and my surgeon tells me it is to my advantage to correct these now. He also has told me that crystalens in both eyes SHOULD correct my depth perception. I appreciate your concern and reply.

Depth perception comes from good vision in each eye being integrated in the brain to binocular single vision.

If your eyes are not balance due to image size, different focal lengths, cataract one eye and IOL the other then your depth perception will be off. It's not likely to improve until the source of the problem in one or both eyes is "fixed".

Just repeat what you said in the first posting here. If you don't get answers to your questions get a second opinion from an Eye MD that does refractive surgery.
