Damaged nerves and blood vessels in the iris

If the nerves in the iris (short and long ciliary nerves) and blood vessels were damaged or for other health reasons were not responding , could it have an effect on the color of the iris ,causing a darkening of the iris color like a melanin hyperpigmentation? Basically do nerves and blood vessels in the iris have a link to eye color?

Iris color can be affected by trauma, if there was bleeding in the eye (hyphema) it can make the eye darker and also stain the cornea, or trauma can cause the pigment in the iris to fall out making it lighter in color.

Let's say the nerves (short and long ciliary nerves) were not responding properly because of deeper nerve problems like let's say a trapped nerve from a nerve that leads to the iris nerves? and the blood vessels were being restricted from blood flow not caused by trauma but by complication deeper in the body ,could that have effect pigmentation in the iris? Or is eye color not linked to the iris nerves and blood vessels?
I don't think the situation you describe occurs.  Eye color is related to the amount of pigment in the iris stroma.

So blood vessels and iris nerves don't play a role in eye color?
