HI all - my wife has had terrible trouble for years with what the doctors diagnosed as 'allergic conjunctivitis'. Her right eye is swollen almost shut, lids bright res, watery and painful. Also vision is blurred.
Went to an eye specialist today and he diagnosed 'medicaments'. Put ointment in and covered her eye. Have to go back tomorrow morning for him to see what the result is.
Can anybody help with experiences or knowledge of this? She's a very young 70's and has been taking warfarin for AF for about 10 years.

This is a succinct reference. Basically it generally means the eye irritation and symptoms are due to medications being used on the eye. These can be prescription medicines or over the counter medicine in eye drop or eye ointment form. It may be due to the medicine or the preservatives or carrier agents in the medication.

You can also print out a copy and take in to the ophthalmologist and see if that is what he/she is talking about.
