Does PVD always result in more floaters

I am 40 years old and had an injury that caused a number of floaters in both eyes. I had my eyes checked by retinal specialist and it appears that the vitreous is tugging on the retina. If it results in a PVD, will I end up having more floaters? Is it always the case? My floaters are currently unbearable and I can't imagine having more of them. Does the Wiess ring (or other floaters) always happen after a PVD?

1. look on my home page and review the blog postings. There are several about floaters and how much they bother people. 2. You can have floaters without PVDs and vice versa. 3.  All PVDs don't pull loose a Weiss Ring  4.  By age 50 half the populations have floaters and PVDs by age 70 its three out of four.
